The Nordplus Adult Learning Programme stimulates and develops adult learning in all its forms; formal, non-formal as well as informal learning. The main purpose of the programme is to strengthen and develop cooperation, as well as to create networks and partnerships on all levels. The programme supports mobility, projects and network activities in the Nordic and Baltic region.

The Nordplus Adult Learning Programme may support mobility, network and projects, including:

  • Preparatory visits
  • Further education and training for teachers and other pedagogical staff
  • Exchange of participants in adult learning
  • Thematic network projects
  • Development projects
  • Mapping projects

Prioritised areas and themes for Nordplus Adult in 2008

  • Quality development in the area of adult learning in a perspective of lifelong learning
  • Recognition and validation of skills and competencies aquired in unformal and non-formal learning
  • Basic competencies (i.e. reading-, writing-, mathematics- and IT-skills)
  • Language learning for immigrants and minority groups
  • Results of investments in adult learning
