The Nordplus Adult Learning Programme may support mobility, network and projects, including:

• Preparatory visits
• Further education and training for teachers and other pedagogical staff
• Exchange of participants in adult learning
• Thematic network projects
• Development projects
• Mapping projects

Prioritised areas for Nordplus Adult in 2009

• The recognition and validation of skills with particular focus on the development of tools and methods for documenting skills acquired in informal and non-formal learning activities.
• The involvement of adult learners in the development of educational programmes, in order to improve the quality of learning activities by matching the need of the learners.
• Adults' basic skills (i. e. reading, writing, maths and IT skills), as well as language skills amongst immigrants and other minority groups in the Nordic and Baltic languages (i.e. native language of their country of residence) and second language learning of the local population.
• Challenges of modern citizenship with a special focus on environmental awareness and climate issues, but also for example on entrepreneurship and other relevant topics.

Applications focusing on innovation and development, or the effect of implemented measures are given priority, as are new applicants and partnerships, applications covering new issues, problems, methods and solution models.
