&lt;p&gt;The Nordic Council of Ministers has extended the Nordplus programme for the period of 2012-2016. The call for proposals is now available, and the application deadline is the 1st of March 2012.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Further development of the Nordic welfare model was on the agenda when the Nordic ministers of education met in Copenhagen on November 2. Tora Aasland, the Norwegian Minister of Research and Higher Education, called for programmes based on research for the education and training of staff in the health sector. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A total number of 598 applications were received in the 2011 Nordplus Framwork Programme application round for. Among these, 442 projects have been granted and will share the total sum of approximately 8 million Euros. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;14 applications for preparatory visits were submitted to the Nordplus Adult deadline 15 October applying for a total of 63.000 euro.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The grant amount available was 30.000 euro, and 10 of the 14 applications have now been approved.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Some of the project that started in 2008 have received an e-mail saying that it is time to submit a report. The reports should be submitted through the &lt;a href="http://ars.norden.org/" title="Application and Reporting System" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;b&gt;ARS&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;. In the revised &lt;a href="/eng/media/files/publications_media/ars/ars_user_guide_2011_in_english" target="_self"&gt;&lt;b&gt;user guide&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt; for ARS, each step of the reporting is described.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The Nordic Ministers of Education have decided to establish a Nordic Climate Day 2009. The Nordic Climate Day will be launched on 11 November and will create greater awareness and knowledge about the climate, as well as active involvement of pupils, apprentices, teachers and trainers in climate matters in the light of the UN's climate summit in Copenhagen. Initiatives attached to the Nordic Climate Day may be included in applications for the Nordplus Framework Programme.&lt;/p&gt;
