Skólar ehf. runs five health schools for children from the ages of 9 months upto 6 years. The health concept in our kindergartens emphasizes on "nutrition, physical activity and the making of art through play". Researches have shown that students from our health schools have better motor skills and are more likely to be interested in sports than other students. Students that enhance such skills and interests are believed to be better equipped to make healthy decision in their lives. Therefore we want to expand and develop the health concept for primary schools.
Our project aims to make a clear and a systematic curriculum for primary schools that focuses on all the aspects of public health, that is physical, mental and social health. |
