An impressive number of successful Nordplus projects with a focus on integration were presented when Nordplus hosted a virtual integration seminar. This initiative is full of inspiration for future projects across the Nordic and Baltic countries.

Young Nordic deaf people have gotten their own website. Here they can learn about each other’s cultures, learn about the differences between countries in sign language and become inspired to visit other schools and perhaps go abroad. In fact, they have created most of the content themselves.

Pedagogues and preschool teachers must develop children’s creativity and ability to create digital content themselves. It is a tough task, and therefore a number of universities, municipalities, folk high schools, pedagogue- and teacher educations, and preschools across all the Nordic countries have joined together.

In many countries, pupils learn a first and second foreign language at an increasingly younger age. Research shows early foreign language learning in and of itself does not lead to more nor better learning. It namely requires well-founded didactic competences to teach the youngest schoolchildren, and it is therefore important to invest in further education for teachers. A Nordplus project has now shown that it is possible to build a bridge between Nordic public schools, teacher education, further education for teachers, and university research.

What happens when a group of Nordic researchers and students meet with the political and administrative level in a city and have to jointly find solutions to problems and establish a sustainable city district? They cooperate – and find brand new solutions
